I.W. Evans News
Hello from the Counselor’s Corner. I.W. Evans kicked off “Rachel’s Challenge” again this year with assemblies in September. Our 6th graders attended the assembly at Bonham High School on September 23 while our 4th and 5th graders had their assembly at I.W. Evans on September 24. Students accepted the challenge of showing kindness and compassion by signing the “Rachel’s Challenge” banner. The students and staff have been presenting chain links of kindness to those people who have demonstrated acts of kindness. Our Chains of Kindness keep getting longer. As they continue to grow we will be moving them to the hallway. To go along with “Rachel’s Challenge” we are working on the concept of “Influence” during our October guidance lessons. In November we will discuss the importance of “Setting Goals.”
The KC Club (Kindness/Compassion Club) has also been very busy. The members of KC Club put together Red Ribbon Week, which was celebrated the last week in October. They will also be sponsoring a Food Drive during the holiday season.

Mrs. Campbell’s homeroom was the 1st Six Weeks winner of the Box Top Challenge. Continue to clip and save Box Tops for Education and each 6 weeks a new homeroom with the most Box Tops collected will win a Box Top Breakfast.
