Community Development Corporation board begins search for replacement

McKINNEY, TEXAS (Nov. 4, 2009) – Today the McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) announced that Executive Director Mike Gibson is resigning from the organization after more than five years of leadership.

“I truly enjoyed my five-and-a-half years with MCDC serving the board and the citizens of McKinney. I’m proud that we were able to positively impact many organizations and individuals during this time. I wish the board well in their search for a new director,” said Gibson.

The MCDC is a 4B sales tax corporation created in 1996 by City Council and residents to enhance McKinney's aesthetic, cultural and leisure amenities. The board and staff members are responsible for promoting and funding community facilities and quality of life projects throughout the city. The organization is funded by a ½ cent sales tax.

The MCDC board will begin a search for qualified candidates to fill the Executive Director position. For more information about MCDC, visit www.mckinneycdc.org.
