We heard you loud and clear!  You LOVE the Historic Downtown Farmers Market at Chestnut Square!  In a recent Local Harvest and Care2 nationwide contest, the McKinney Farmers Market ranked 62nd in the nation.  Yes, the ambiance was a big part of what we heard in the comments we got, but so was the quality of our vendors.  So now, we’re going year-round at Chestnut Square AND we’re expanding to a new location.

The 2009 weekly Farmers Market ended with a Halloween Blast on Saturday, October 31.  In addition to the Lone Star Leprechauns (
http://www.lonestarleprechauns.com/) providing their wonderful instrumentals for the market, Stephanie Farrar of the Canine Cookie Company sponsorrd a Halloween Doggie Costume Contest.

Beginning in November, the McKinney Farmers Market will go year round with monthly dates on Saturday, November 21, December 19 , January 30  and February 27.  Come out and visit your favorite vendors for Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas gifts and dinner supplies.  The weekly market at Chestnut Square will start up again on Saturday March 6.  Chestnut  Square market hours are 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Coming soon, the McKinney Farmers Market will begin at Adriatica on McKinney’s West side.  Many of your favorite vendors will be at Adriatica at Virginia Parkway and Stonebridge on Thursdays from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m.  Couldn’t get to Saturday’s market?  Come on out to Adriatica on Sunday.  Need some more of that fresh produce or meat mid-week?  Visit us at Adriatica on Thursday.
