Dan Rather cancels his appearance to speak at Dallas museum

Dallas, TX— Dan Rather has cancelled his planned appearance to speak at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza this Saturday, November 22, 2008.  Scheduled to speak as part of the Museum’s Impressions of Jack Kennedy series, Rather was to share his experiences covering the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and other major events over the past 50 years.  Visitors who had planned to attend the program should note the Museum will still observe the death of the 35th president on the day. 

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

Mission:  Chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy; interprets and supports the Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza; and presents contemporary culture within the context of presidential history.  For more information, visit www.jfk.org or call 214-747-6660.

Hours: Monday Noon-6pm, Tuesday-Sunday 10am-6pm.

Offers: Audio guides for the permanent exhibit are available in seven languages, including a youth version in English.
