Austin College volleyball downs UT-Tyler

SHERMAN, Texas – With most of its season being spent on the road this year, the No. 15-ranked Austin College volleyball team didn’t waste their first opportunity to put on a good show for the home crowd in Hughey Gymnasium on Tuesday night as they topped the visiting University of Texas-Tyler Patriots 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.  With the win, the ’Roos improve to 7-2 on the year. 

Jenna Wilson

Jenna Wilson led the way with nine kills and added 10 digs, while Delia Mercer and Damaris Orasanu each had eight kills and a block apiece.  Jordan Anderton had a team-best 30 assists and added 13 digs in the match, while Gloria Carey and Jessica Rose had 18 and 15 digs, respectively.  Carey added a pair of service aces in the match.

The ’Roos head to Georgetown this weekend to take part in the Southwestern University Invitational, with their first match coming on Friday against McMurry. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
