Mothers needed to SHARE! Their hearts & homes

Every year we celebrate and honor our mothers by sharing the day and giving special gifts to honor her and show our appreciation for all that she does for us.

Did you know that in Brazil, mothers are honored on the same day and in the same way?

This Mother’s Day, consider becoming an International Mom by hosting a SHARE! High School Exchange student.

“I can’t think of a better way to promote understanding between Americans and other countries than to bring an international student into the home and hearts of our local moms,” states Yvette Coffman, Southwest Regional Director for the SHARE! program.

Students are expected to participate as members of the host family, pitching in with chores and sharing their own country and culture.

According to Coffman, there are teens from over 25 different countries still available to be loved by an American mom for the upcoming school year.  Host families provide a bed, meals, and a family environment for students who are between 15 and 18 years old.  Students hope to arrive in August, will study at local high schools, speak English when they arrive, and are covered by medical insurance and bring spending money to cover their personal expenses.

This once in a lifetime opportunity to become an International Mom is made possible by the SHARE! High School Exchange Program.  SHARE! is sponsored by Educational Resource Development Trust (ERDT), a nonprofit educational foundation which has been involved in international student exchange for over 30 years. Those interested in hosting or learning more about the SHARE! Program can contact Yvette Coffman at the SHARE! Southwest Regional Office at 1-800-941-3738 or visit http://www.sharesouthwest.org/.
