Texas AgriLife Extension two-day Horsemanship/Horse Training Clinic slated June 6-7 at Multi-Purpose Complex Arena

The Texas AgriLife Extension Horsemanship/ Horse Training Clinics are hands on (on horse) clinic, June 6-7, 2006 at the Multi-Purpose Complex Arena on Highway 56 west in Bonham, designed to improve horsemanship and assist you in improving the abilities of your horse. This is a two day clinic packed with useful information.

Topics will include horsemanship skills while riding in groups, bits and bitting lecture and demonstration (bits and how they work, flexion), response and gaits, training maneuvers (suppling, leads, circles, backing), advanced maneuvers lecture/demonstration (turn-arounds, spins, lead changes), showmanhip at halter (ground safety, ground training, turning around) and specialty event clinics in groups (Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, Western Horsemanship, Trail, and Reining).

Each day will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. It is recommended that you arrive early to warm up and prepare for the day. Current EIA Test (Coggins) is required on all horses. Registration is $45 and includes a t-shirt and lunch. Clinic is open to the first 30 paid riders until May 15. First Come - First Serve (4-H Membership is recommended and FREE with completed enrollment form.)
