Bluegrass music comes in a variety of styles and fans enjoying the parade of bands during the opening day of the Bonham Bluegrass Festival found something special in every band that took the stage Friday at the Multi-Purpose Complex.
From the old time favorite songs of music veteran Vern Young and his "all-girl band," to the sweet, blended harmonies of Grandpa's Neighbors, from a polished set by local bluegrass favorites Upper Grassmen, to that high lonesome sound of Blue River, bluegrass fans were obviously pleased by the talent of the opening day line-up at the 2008 Bonham Bluegrass Festival.
And Saturday should mean more of the same, with Upper Grassmen, Welch Mountain, Clear River, Vern Young, Bill Grant, Midnight Flight and Roger Matthews all set to take the stage in the second day of the festival.
Tickets for Saturday only cost $15.
