Bonham, Texas – The Creative Arts Center in Bonham has many activities planned for the holiday season.
Sweets, Spirits and Sparkles is the center’s annual holiday shopping extravaganza. This year it will be on Saturday, Dec 6. Shopping hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There is no admission fee to come shop at the center. There will be 15 local vendors set up inside the center, selling handcrafted items. The gift shop and gallery will also have items for sale.
Sweets Online Auction – for the second year in a row, the center will be hosting an online bake sale, dubbed the Sweets Online Auction on Thursday, Dec 4. Bidding on homemade pies, cakes, cookies and other holiday treats will start online at 10:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. The bidding link is: Sweets Auction 2025
Art Show – the theme for the December Art show is Fire & Ice. LS Elmore will also be having a solo show in the East Gallery. The opening reception for both shows will be Thursday, Dec 4, come and go from 5-7 pm. Free admission. All welcome. Come visit with LS Elmore and other artists and guests. Light refreshments will be served.
Cookies with Santa is set for Saturday, Dec 13 from 10:30 am to noon. Each child registered will get to decorate 6 cookies and get photos with Santa. Advanced registration is required by noon on Dec 11.
Kidz Krew Christmas Dinner Theatre will have two shows only. Friday, Dec 19 and Saturday, Dec 20 at 7 pm in the main gallery of the art center. Tickets are $20 each and include dinner and the show. Tickets must be purchased in advance before noon on Dec 18 or before they are sold out. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Art Classes – The Center continues to have a wide variety of art classes scheduled for all ages. Brush & Brunch with Jaye will be on Dec 9 from 11 am to 3 pm. Mixed Media and Music is a free class on Dec 12 from 1-3 pm. Gel Plates with Wanda Oilver will be held on Dec 16 from 10 am to 4 pm. Watercolors with Tatiana will be on Dec 16 from 10 am to noon. Junk Journal Club will meet on Dec 17 from 2-4 pm, Garden Charm Workshop with Michelle Haynes will be held on Dec 18 from 11 am to 2 pm. Oil Pastels with Tatiana Murray will be on Dec 19 from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Artist Get Together is on dec 19 from 1-3 pm. Other Classes –Kristi Dunbar teaches yoga on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Jenny Schero teaches chair yoga on Wednesdays at 1 pm. Classes are $10 each for members and $15 each for non-members. Poetry at the Art Center is a free monthly gathering of folks who enjoy reading and listening to poetry. The next one is set for Jan 22 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Starting in January, there will be a book club that meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month. Details will be posted on the website soon.
The Art Center’s normal hours of operation are Tuesday – Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to noon. Be sure to remember the center’s art gallery and gift shop when doing your holiday shopping.
