This closure is needed to safely perform the overlay work on the frontage road. Closing the exit ramp will mitigate the potential for frequent instances of traffic veering off their lane. It will also mitigate the potential for driver confusion. Crews will be laying hot mix asphalt overlay on the frontage road. The closure will allow for the hot mix asphalt to cool down before it is opened to traffic. Message boards will be placed ahead of the ramps to alert drivers.
Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
