Fannin County, Texas -- In a county with a proud farm and ranch tradition, Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc. has managed to start a tradition of its own. For the second year in a row, Steaks on Main Ribeye Cook-off and free concert was the highlight of the year in historic downtown Bonham. And, for the second-consecutive year, Fannin Agricultural Association donated proceeds from the event to every high school agricultural department in Fannin County.

With Fannin Agricultural Association Board Members and FFA students behind him, Fannin Agricultural Association President Jaylen Wallace addresses students and teachers from 10 different high schools in Fannin County.

With high school students representing 10 schools and members of Fannin Agricultural Association gathered at the Fannin County Courthouse for the presentation Wednesday, May 22, Jaylen Wallace, President of Fannin Agricultural Association, challenged the students to make the most of every opportunity.

"My grandfather, Happy Wallace, was an ag teacher at Leonard," Mr. Wallace told the crowd, "and he had a saying: What you do today is more than what you do today. It's something that we believe and something that you, as members of FFA and 4H, believe as well."

Steaks on Main is more than just a great ribeye dinner and free concert for the community. It's also for a worthy cause. After the inaugural event in 2023, Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc. was able to donate over $20,000 back to local FFA/4H programs in Fannin County and this year's donation was even more impressive -- in 2024, that donation swelled to $35,000.

"We want to do our part, so y'all can keep doing great things," Wallace told the students. "This year's event was bigger than last year, and next year will be even better."

Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc. members include Jaylen Wallace (President), Cody Maxwell (Vice President), Blaine Alexander (Treasurer), Amy Lindsey (Secretary), Dean Lackey, Cole Lackey, Landon Shinpaugh, Jessica Withrow and Christy Flanagan.
