Getting 'radio-active' with Fannin County Amateur Radio Club

Fannin County, Texas -- April is an active month for the Fannin County Amateur Radio Club, in many ways. From the net for the eclipse on April 8 to the weather net later that evening, the club operated their radios with updates on the conditions in the area. The weekly net check-ins and net control operations pays off when the conditions warrant.

Other activities for the club include the Fannin County Master Gardener EXPO on April 13, the Sam Rayburn House Home School Event April 17, the regular club meeting April 20, the test for the medical net with TMC-Bonham hospital on April 26. The activities are just some of the things the club does in the community.

Field Day 2024 theme is Getting Radioactive, and your club is active on many levels in the community, and works with other clubs in surrounding areas. Classes for new operators are offered by way of Zoom, and the club gives many opportunities to test for license applicants.

Fannin County Amateur Radio Club meets regularly the third Saturday of each month at 9:00am at Bois D'Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Edhube. Weekly net on 145.470 at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening open to all operators. For more information, check the website www.k5frc.org or follow on Facebook.
