April 13, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Multipurpose Complex in Bonham.

Fannin County, Texas -- The Fannin County Master Gardeners are excited about their 19th Annual Expo! This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Offering landscape, vegetable, and herb plants, lawn and garden items, handmade crafts, gift, home needs, and decor, with equipment vendors, and so much more. There will also be door prizes and a silent auction.

We have some great and exciting speakers lined up for The Garden, Lawn, and Home Expo 2024!

— 9:00 AM: Katie Capehart, Texas Master Beekeeper “Beekeeping”

Katie has been a beekeeper for three years and a Texas Master Beekeeper since November of 2023. She is a bee removal expert and specializes in hive management services.

— 10:30 AM: Bryan Moore, Good Earth Soil and Materials “Soil, Compost, and EarthKind Practices”

Bryan spent 12 years in the Commercial Composting Industry producing high quality compost, has served on the Composting Council for the State of Texas, and is currently a Texas Master Composter. His goal is to help others learn about and successfully create thriving landscapes and gardens using organic soils, composts, and mulches.

— 12:00 PM: Jim Ewoldsen, Collin County Master Gardener “Tomatoes”

Jim is a longtime Collin County Master Gardener, in fact he was one of the very first members that helped start the organization in 2007. Jim has served as President for the CCMGA in the mid 2000’s and serves on the Speakers Bureau spreading the good news on growing beautiful tomatoes. Jim remembers picking tomatoes with his grandmother over 70 years ago, so needless to say he has had a lot of experience.

— 1:30 PM: Jan Hodson, Texas Master Naturalists- Elm Fork Chapter “The Ecology of Native Plants."

Jan has always loved the outdoors. She is a Texas Master Naturalist with over 400 hours of advanced training and 6000 hours of service to the Elm Fork Chapter of TMN in Cooke County, and served on the board of that organization for 5 years. She also worked as a Park Interpreter at Ray Roberts State Park for 2 years. She has certifications in a variety of areas including Project Wild, Growing Up Wild, Citizen Forester, Fire-Wise Landscaping and Land Management.

Additionally, Aubrey, the Collin County Honey Princess, will have a booth demonstrating the importance of honeybees, pollination, how to support honeybees, and what beekeeping looks like.
