Sherman, Texas -- Funeral services for John Daniel Boyles will be held at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service and burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro.
John Daniel Boyles (Danny) was born April 17, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, to parents, John and Kathryn Boyles. Danny died suddenly on February 9, 2024, in Pottsboro, Texas. He started school in Richardson, Texas. The family moved to Sherman, Texas, in 1976. Danny attended Sherman Schools and Grayson College. He was involved in sports, band (where he played clarinet), Boy Scouts, and agricultural programs in the community and schools. Danny became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at age 12. He was trained and certified in several trade skills.
In 1987, Danny married Stacy Ann Hampton in Rossville, Georgia, when he was working at a job in Chattanooga, Tenn. They returned to Sherman where Danny worked with local glass companies and Tanglewood Resort before becoming an independent contractor. He served many clients through his work in the local area and other states. He received many calls and helped many friends with household emergencies and car problems.
Danny was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Stacy, who passed away in 2012. He is survived by his parents, John and Kathryn Boyles, two daughters, Holly Whisenant (Kurt) and Mary Boyles, and four grandchildren, Reese, Christian, Jessa, and Brynlee, one sister, Donna Rogers, niece, Katy Rogers, nephew, Corey Rogers, one Labrador retriever and close friend, Bo, and many cousins and friends.
Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles with friends. He also loved to cook on the smoker and grill. Many have eaten the good food he prepared. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
