Fannin County, Texas -- With the holidays beginning soon, Faye and Scott could not be more joyful than to be hosting Pierce Pettis, acclaimed singer-songwriter, on Sunday, November 19,'23, 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Harmony House Concerts. Since this is a time of family and connection, we want to invite you, our musical family, to come to a feast of incredible talent, songs that will stick to the roof of your head and inside your heart, and festive fun with Pierce.

After a lifetime of crafting finely wrought, heart-touching songs, singer-songwriter Pierce Pettis feels that he’s finally found his comfort zone.

“The biggest change,” he says of this point in his career “has been getting over myself and realizing this is a job and a craft. And, the purpose is not fame and fortune -- whatever that is -- but simply doing good work.”

Pierce will play two 45-minute sets with an intermission between, so you can do any or all the possible choices:   visit the "necessary room", fill your cuppa Joe and a plate of goodies, go outside and feed the goats (Ha!), meet Pierce in person and buy one of his CDs, take a walk to the pond, etc.  Faye and Scott will provide bottomless cups of coffee, tea, tea punches, and good 'ole well water, as well as plates, cups, and napkins, various cheeses and crackers, and whatever treats Faye can come up with.  In the breakfast room, there will be a plate for $1 optional donations to help defray expenses.  We do ask you, our guests, to bring a finger-food snack, so our munchie tables will be abundant and varied.

You will need to make a reservation, as space is limited in this little house on the prairie.  Reservations are $25 per person, payable at the Reservation Table in cash or by check made out to Pierce Pettis.  Call 903-583-2661 (landline, no texts) and leave your name, contact number (emails preferred), and number of seats desired.  We will keep a Wait List, in case this show is sold out.  That's why it's important to contact us ASAP if you need to cancel.  No-shows are a No-No!!!!   We hope to hear from you soon!

If you have never been to a Harmony House Concert before, we'd love to meet you.  We are located about 10 miles north of Bonham,TX and about 65 miles NE of Dallas/Ft.Worth.  Our house is a reclaimed vintage home in the middle of a meadow surrounded by woodlands.  When making reservations, indicate if you need directions and we’ll get back to you (Faye usually confirms reservations anyway.)  If the rural atmosphere and fresh air agree with you, we'd be glad to have you volunteer to help with one of our many projects. Quotes about Pierce from fellow songwriters and journalists:

“Sometimes I have to stop listening to a Pierce Pettis track halfway through because he makes me want to give up on songwriting.  Pierce is a master musical storyteller, delivering human truth and heartbreaking vulnerability with every tune. He’s also an unnecessarily virtuosic guitarist with the voice of some beautiful angel who also happens to be your old, familiar friend.  All of it completely unfair.”

~ Justin Paul, writer/composer "La La Land", "Dear Evan Hansen"

"... all Pettis has to offer is his earnest best, a tender heart, packaged in one three-and-a-half minute song after another."

~ Jason Killingsworth, Paste Magazine

"Pierce Pettis bares a gentle soul with a keen eye, a soulful voice, and perfect guitar accompaniment for his beautiful songs -- a masterful poet treasure."

~ Darrell Scott, songwriter/recording artist

"I have loved Pierce's music for many years now-he has the gift of a true inner compass."

~ Eliza Gilkyson, songwriter/recording artist

“Pierce Pettis doesn’t write mere songs, he writes literature. ... End to end the songwriting is brilliant. ... Pierce Pettis albums are events in my listening. His writing just gets better all the time and his singing is marvelous, wry and warm ..."

~ Sing Out!

Compass Records Group recording artist Pierce Pettis has been around the block a few times.  An Alabama native, he began his career at the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studios.  Later, he contributed to Fast Folk Musical Magazine in New York, recorded for Windham Hill/High Street Records in Los Angeles, and spent a decade as a staff songwriter for Polygram and Universal Music Publishing in Nashville.  His songs have been covered by Dion, Art Garfunkel, Garth Brooks,  and Joan Baez — as well as David Wilcox, Tim O'Brien, Dar Williams and Claire Lynch, to name a few.  His latest album, Father's Son, was released by Compass in early 2019 to widespread critical praise.  During the recent lockdown, Pierce was busy writing and redoing over a dozen new songs he's now showcasing since full-time touring resumed.
