We must join forces and come into the next session with a clear voice and send a message to the Texas legislature that TRS retirees need a COLA now!

This fall the 20 districts of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) will be hosting Fall Conferences around the state. The District X conference will be held at Region 10 in Richardson on October 24, 2022 from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM.

As members of TRTA, we will convene to enjoy fellowship, prepare for the upcoming November General Election, hear from candidates for political office, and discuss their advocacy plans for the 88th Legislative Session that begins in January 2023!

Our members know that TRTA's top priority for the coming legislative session is for the Legislature to pass a substantial, meaningful cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for TRS retirees.

Now is the time for TRTA members to come together to educate future elected officials about the impact inflation has had on retirees and why a COLA is much needed and in fact, necessary, for retirees to enjoy their retirement with dignity.

Consider joining TRTA and attend the fall conference. TRTA Executive Director Tim Lee will be the keynote speaker, and you won't want to miss his informative and inspirational speech!

Join TRTA by going to trta.org or visit a local chapter meeting. The Fannin County Retired Teachers and School Personnel Chapter will meet on October 4, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church Williams Educational Building in Bonham at 2 PM.

Remember: TRS MANAGES our money. TRTA PROTECTS our money.
