McKinney, Texas -- Spring is in the air in historic downtown McKinney and everything will be in full bloom beginning Friday, April 9.

The McKinney Square will be an open-air market celebration of art, wine, and food this weekend during Arts in Bloom, a rite of spring in North Texas.

The free event features more than 120 artists. Guests will enjoy the sights and sounds as fine artists, dancers, performance artists, musicians, Texas wineries, and food vendors take part in the three-day celebration. Donít miss out on the hands-on interactive kids' attraction where young Picassos can create their own masterpieces. Details about the event can be found on the festival website. Friday, 5-10 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.

Sam Lumpkins and the crew from Homestead Winery will be part of the open-air market celebration of art, wine, and food this weekend during historic downtown McKinney's Arts in Bloom, a rite of spring in North Texas.

Produced and sponsored by McKinney Main Street, Arts In Bloom takes place in Historic Downtown McKinney and features over 120 juried artists, and the Local Artist Village, all set up on the tree-lined streets surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center.

A nationally recognized participant in the Main Street Program, downtown McKinney offers a unique and beautiful setting of restored, turn-of-the-century buildings that now feature cafes, offices, bars, boutiques, galleries and restaurants.

During the event, the streets of downtown come alive with fascinating sights and sounds as fine artists, performance artists, musicians, Texas wineries, and food vendors take part in the three-day celebration. Thereís also a hands-on interactive area for children, the Kids Creation Station, where young Picassoís can learn about art processes and create their own masterpieces.
