Fannin County officials attend County Management & Risk Conference

Austin, Texas -- Randy Moore, Fannin County Judge, and Alicia Whipple, Fannin County Auditor, attended the County Management & Risk Conference, April 10-12 in San Marcos, which was presented by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC).

During the event, Texas county officials and managers attended sessions that provided resources and solutions for counties on the latest in risk management, human resource trends, workplace wellness and more.

Breakout presentations covered topics such as workplace violence and assessing threats; critical risks impacting Texas counties and their budgets; current trends in jail operations; professionalism, diversity and valuing difference in the workplace; the changing climate of workers’ compensation and an overview of Medicare.

The LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin served as educational co-sponsor for this TAC conference. Officials attending received continuing education credits, which apply toward mandatory continuing education requirements.
