McKinney -- Historic downtown McKinney's affinity for art and culture resulted in the Collin County seat being recognized in September 2018 as one of 40 designated cultural districts in Texas and an official proclamation and celebration will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10 on the west steps of the McKinney Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to join this free celebration.

The soundtrack for this event will come courtesy of a live performance by McKinney's own E-Flat Porch Band, an authentic duo of "angst-free" acoustic musicians who have been included on the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Artist Roster continuously since 2001.

(L-R) Rudy Littrell and Duane Brown, better known as the E-Flat Porch Band

E-Flat Porch Band will perform before and after the celebration.

Other facets of this celebration include McKinney Art Studio Tours, a public art preview for Mitchell Park and a variety of 'Second Saturday' activities.
