Ector -- The Ector Eagles and the Tom Bean Tomcats treated their fans to an exciting fourth quarter before the Tom Cats fought off a late rally by the Eagles.

Tom Bean led 29-23 at halftime and the Tomcats stretched their advantage to 12 points, 47-35, heading into the fourth quarter.

The Eagles managed to tie the game several times with a furious rally in the final frame, however Tom Bean held on for a tough 61-59 victory. 

Ector senior Deviaire Patterson led all scorers with 28 points, Austin Earl threw in 13 points and Noel Cannaday was also in double figures with 10 points. Nathan Essary and Garen Norwood each put up three points, with Kenny Nelms contributing two points.

Patterson hit four three-pointers and went 10-of-12 from the free throw line.

Tom Bean had four players in double digits to offset the outstanding performance by Patterson

Blakeston Jones led Tom Bean with 22 points, Bryce Grier finished with 14 points, Dillon Curd dropped in 11 points and Ben Lind tossed in 10 points. Payton Clark and Michael Cooper both had two points.

Ector falls to 19-5 on the season and the Eagles will travel to Celeste on Friday.
